Every great novel—or at least every finished novel—needs a plan.

Kristin Newton‘s insight:

Even if you think in words, organizing thoughts visually in your brain or on paper helps you think in a more expanded way. Connections happen faster and more spontaneously. I’ve found that thinking in words slows me down. Thinking in pictures is faster than the speed of light, but putting those insights into words is like plodding along by foot on a country road.
