Why Fukushima Was Preventable

Public sentiment in many states has turned against nuclear energy following the March 2011 accident at Japan’s Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station. The Fukushima accident was, however, preventable.

Kristin Newton‘s insight:

Dr Kiyoshi Kurokawa was chairman of the 9-member Japan Fukushima Nuclear Accident Independent Investigation Commission, which delivered its report in July 2012. Dr. Kurokawa says the media has failed to question the government and Tepco’s responsibility. "Why are the Japanese not angry at the restarting of nuclear reactors?"
